This mini cannon is a representative of "6 pounder" field gun used during the American Revolution. It had a bronze barrel measuring 4 1/2 feet in length and a 3.66 inch bore. The cannon weighed over 500 pound and was transported by horse or oxen. Their range often exceeded 2,000 yards, but most field use was restricted to under 500 yards.
